Motor Insurance

In Singapore, it is illegal to drive a car on the road without valid insurance. The minimum requirement is that the insurance policy should cover for injury or death to other parties. Depending on the premium you’re willing to pay, coverage can be expanded to include damage to other people’s property, theft of your vehicle, personal accident cover and others.

The main point you need to note here is that motor insurance is a prerequisite for registering a vehicle. During registration, you’d need to produce the original insurance cover note or the certificate of insurance.
