LONDON, October 24, 2008 (AFP) - James Bond's Aston Martin was named the most iconic British car of all time in a poll for a digital television channel out Friday.

The Aston Martin DB5, which features in five 007 films including "Casino Royale" in 2006, beat the Jaguar E-Type and Mini Cooper.

The most embarrassing car was the three-wheeled Reliant Robin, which is frequently the object of Mr Bean's anger in the smash-hit comedy films.

Meanwhile, 49 percent of respondents thought Porsche drivers were arrogant and wanting to make a statement while 44 percent thought they were having a mid-life crisis.

The poll of 2,300 people also found that on average British drivers spend more than 15 hours a week in their cars but since recent increases in petrol prices, as many as 53 percent have reduced the unnecessary journeys they make.

7. Lotus Elise
