BIG AND POWERFUL COUPE

Downsize is not a word that applies to the new Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe, a plus-sized two-door endowed with a 5.5-litre V8 bi-turbo. With 585bhp and 900Nm on tap, the land yacht sails to 100kmh in 4.3 seconds. The car is equipped with the world's first curve-tilting function, part of its Magic Body Control suspension system, which allows it to lean into a corner like a motorcycle.

PEUGEOT'S NEW PURETECH RANGE

Puretech is the name of Peugeot's new range of three-cylinder naturally aspirated and turbocharged 1- and 1.2-litre petrol engines. The engines will be available in the Peugeot 108, 208, 2008 and 308 from this month. Power outputs range from 68bhp to 130bhp.

MOST WELL-EQUIPPED CITY

The new Honda City could well be the most highly equipped made- for-Asia car. The 1.5-litre 120bhp compact sedan has paddle shifters for its new "seven-speed" continuously variable transmission, Vehicle Stability Assist, Hill Start Assist and Emergency Stop Signal. Inside, it has a 7-inch infotainment display that doubles as a reverse camera. It allows smartphone interface, keyless access and ignition, cruise control and hands-free telephone switch. It will be launched here in May.

SCOOTER-LIKE MOTORBIKE

Behold the NM4 Vultus, Honda's radical scooter-like motorcycle. The NM4 has LED lights, a low-friction 745cc twin- cylinder engine bolted close to the tarmac, a dual-clutch autobox with manual override and two ride modes.

PORSCHE TO REPLACE ENGINES

Porsche will be replacing the engines of all its 2014 911 GT3 sports cars following two fires. In both cases, damage resulted from a loosened screw joint on the connecting rod. The loose connecting rod damaged the crankcase, leading to oil leakage which then ignited.

NEW STYLISH C4 PICASSO

Cycle & Carriage has launched the all-new Citroen C4 Picasso, available as a five- or seven-seater. Easily the most stylish MPV in town, the C4 Picasso boasts a fully digital cockpit. This includes a 7-inch touchpad and a 12-inch panoramic high-definition screen. Engine choices include a 1.6- litre 115bhp e-HDi that qualifies for a Category A COE and a carbon rebate of $15,000.

RIDING JACKETS WITH AIRBAGS

Ducati has unveiled a fully integrated inflatable riding jacket system. A slew of sensors built into the Ducati Multistrada's electronics constantly monitor the bike's dynamic situation. In a crash, the system deploys airbags within the Dainese jackets of rider and pillion in just 45 milliseconds. The wireless system is the latest feature in the Ducati Safety Pack, which includes multi-level anti-lock braking system and traction control.

AGILE AND CONFIDENT

Featuring twin front wheels that automatically lean when cornering, the new Yamaha Tricity delivers scooter-like agility with car-like confidence. The model follows a concept pioneered by Piaggio, which launched the MP3 in 2006.

NEW BMW BIKE

Performance Motors has launched the new BMW R1200 GS Adventure. The 1,170cc 125bhp dual-purpose bike has a new cooling system and a six-speed gearbox that is integrated into the engine housing along with a wet clutch. And for the first time on a BMW production motorcycle, the shaft drive is now positioned on the left to improve riding dynamics. All yours for $39,000.
